GoPro: Universal Studios Singapore

Just got myself the GoPro Hero4 Silver for my upcoming trip to Fiji where a waterproof camera is essential. Lucky enough also to have a long weekend during Labor Day holiday recently for me to test out its video as well as the image quality at Universal Studios Singapore. I would say, I'm actually quite impressed with its quality and portability ! My neck is still thanking me for it :) Anyway, hope you enjoy the video as much as I do !

臺北市 Taipei City, Taiwan (Part II)

So we left Jiufen (九份) at around 1:00 p.m. after we bought some souvenirs from Jiufen Old Street (九份老街). We took the same public bus to the Ruifang (瑞芳) train station and the same way back to Taipei (臺北) but alighted at Taipei Railway Station (台北火車站) instead of Wanhua Station (萬華車站)

We then walked to Taipei Main Station (by the Taipei Metro) to get to Ximending (西門町) by MRT. But before we left, we rent a luggage locker to store our luggage and souvenirs. The prices are quite reasonable in my opinion which are NT$20/3Hrs and NT$50/3Hrs for small and big compartment relatively.

The Red House (西門紅樓)

So here we are at Ximending (西門町) again. This time we went there more for food hunting plus some minor shopping.

When you are there, don't forget to try their "not to be missed" Ah Zong Mian Xian (阿宗麵線) or Mee Sua.

Ah Zong Mian Xian (阿宗麵線)

We left Ximending (西門町) at around 5:45 p.m. to Jiannan Station (劍南). That's where our next hotel located. On the way there, we stopped by Taipei Main Station to collect our luggage.

This was the rush hour time when we were taking the MRT.

By the way, we stayed at Wego Boutique Hotel. It's a very nice hotel with lots of different room designs with different themes.

Such design even inside the elevator.

After checked in, we went to Shilin Night Market (士林夜市) for some snacks. This time we didn't really enjoy much probably this was the last night market that we visited and most of the street foods were tried in the previous night markets. Or probably this was the last night here that we felt quite exhausted.

In the next morning, we visited the Miramar Entertainment Park (美麗華百樂園) which is located across the street from our hotel. It is a shopping mall with department store and also an IMAX theatre. On top of that, on the roof of Miramar Entertainment Park is a 70 metre tall Ferris wheel, second tallest in Taiwan which makes this building unique.

So here's the end of my Taiwan trip. Hope you find this is informative enough and most importantly that you enjoyed the photos ! By the way, I'll be travelling to Taiwan again next year sometime in Spring. So stay tune :D

基隆 Keelung, Taiwan

On the same night when we were in Jiufen (九份), we went to Keelung (基隆) night market for some snacks and minor shopping. From Jiufen (九份), we took a bus with its destination “基隆” in LED sign display from Old Street stop (across the road from 7-Eleven going downhill). It costs NT$42 per pax and about 40 mins travel time. Alight one bus stop before reaching Keelung Railway Station at Lions Bridge (獅子橋) stop on Chung Yi Rd (忠一路). It’s nearer to Miao Kou Night Markat (庙口夜市) than from Keelung (基隆) Railway Station.

Here we are ! I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

You should try Peanut flavor ice cream !

Overall, I would prefer this night market more than Shilin Night Market (士林夜市). Lastly, I would like to end this post with a photo of a cute little girl staring at me while eating :)

清境 Cingjing, Taiwan

In my last post on Fengjia (逢甲), I shared about how I got to THSR Taichung Station (高鐵台中站). Initially we planned to go Cingjing (清境) by taking public bus to Puli (埔里鎮) from THSR station and switch to another bus from Puli (埔里鎮) to Cingjing (清境). This whole journey would have costed us NT$257 and 2 hours of our time. However, fortunate enough we were approached by two tourists asking whether or not we are willing to share a taxi with them. We agreed and we paid for only NT$300 per person which is slightly more expensive than taking public buses but we shorten the traveling time to only 90 minutes !

So the taxi driver dropped us at Misty Wonderland Villa (雲濛仙境). We first dropped our luggage while waiting for the room to be cleaned before check in. We headed to Green Grassland (青青草原) by taking the local bus. The bus fare is only NT$15 per person and 15 minutes of traveling time. So here we are, the Green Grassland (青青草原). Not to forget the entrance fee of NT$200 or NT$120 if you have the Youth Travel Card.

Ok, why were we here ? The sheep ! There are lots of them which are more than 400 as claimed by the locals. Besides, there are horses also !

At first all the sheep were locked by the fences but there were released during and after the show. By the way, there are sheep show twice a day at 9:30a.m. and 2:30p.m. This little girl in the photo below was excited for the show.

So here starts the show... My personal advice, do not sit at the front row if you are afraid to get really close to sheep. There will be 400 sheep crossing through the crowds during the show !

After the show, feel free to take photos with the sheep or you can even hug them.

Cowgirl

We had something for dinner nearby before we headed back to the hotel.

They are selling lots of souvenirs and foods around. Don't forget to try the fresh sheep milk too ! So here ends the day in Green Grassland (青青草原).

Our next stop... Hehuanshan (合歡山) ! Stay tune !
